TruVue from the USA produce a variety of Specialist Glass products. Conservation Clear is the most popular UV glass that we sell, a 2.5mm float glass with a very high UV protection. Reflection Control is an acid etched, low reflection glass that comes both with and without a UV coating. TruVue's Water White AR (without UV protection) and Museum glass (with UV protection) are exceptionally clear types of glass that are almost invisible thanks to TruVue's proprietary manufacturing process.

The most popular in our range are detailed below:

Conservation Clear

Technical Info

  • Blocks up to 99% of UV light rays

  • Does not degrade or delaminate over time.  Tru Vue uses a proprietary inorganic, silica-based UV blocking coating, which is "baked" into the glass substrate producing a permanently bonded coating.

  • 2.5mm glass substrate

When To Use

  • Ideal for any framing application, if reflection-free viewing is not important.
  • For protecting art, photographs and other important personal keepsakes against damage and fading caused by UV light.
  • To provide fade protection for posters. The inks, papers and other materials used to create these prints are more likely to deteriorate at a faster pace than higher quality reproductions.

Cleaning

All of Tru Vue glass products are clean and ready to use. If spot cleaning is needed use the following techniques:

  • Place the glass on a clean, non-abrasive surface for cleaning.
  • Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the glass. Tru Vue recommends using a micro-fiber cloth.
  • Spray a small amount of ammonia-free cleaner onto the cloth. Spraying on the cloth will prevent overspray.

Press the cloth against the glass and clean in round, circular motions

UltraVue

ANTI-REFLECTIVE

UltraVue® glass offers the same superior anti-reflective properties you've come to expect from Tru Vue, on a water white substrate. This high-quality, anti-reflective glass product provides 70% UV protection and is optically coated to create a nearly invisible finish. Similar to its other anti-reflective products, Tru Vue uses its proprietary coating process using Magnetron Sputtering technology, which deposits precisely controlled layers of highly energized metal oxides onto a 2mm, water white substrate, to produce the UltraVue product.

When To Use

  • Ideal for reflection-free viewing when conservation grade UV protection is not a concern
  • To enhance colours, brightness and contrast levels
